roses and leather
Granny aesthetics. I have loved it for years, and will probably do until I die. But it takes some educated styling and an good eye for design, to combine that world into the modern world, so it still looks good and wearable for the rest of us who are under 80. Gucci has been rocking the the looks for seasons now, thanks to their creative master mind Alessandro Michele, who has been in charge Fall/Winter 2015-16 runway show.
This stunning piece, a hand painted and embroidered made-in-italy biker lamb leather jacket with a silk lining, is from Gucci´s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Retailing just under 10 000 €, it has been sold out from Net A Porter. The immediate appearance of this SS2016 collection reads vintage, but the actual make-up of each garment shows a mix of gendres, decades and craftsmanship. If you want an eclectic and truly unique style, but cannot afford to do it all custom made, check out Gucci´s past seasons for second hand shopping inspiration. I know I will.
I would find my biker jacket from a second hand store (sometimes it takes a little while to find the perfect one), have the lining changed at an seamstress atelje and comission a friend to paint it for me. Pieces like these, should always be comissioned. Because they are like tattoos or pieces of art.
